Abstract

The frequency of M2 aberrants falling outside the variation range of original variety defined with a certain confidence limit (α) was studied on its availability for estimation of mutational effects. Experimental results suggested that the frequency of aberrants was a highly effective index in some quantitative characters not only for estimation of mutational effects but also far selection of mutants.
