Abstract

Effects of CPM and FWM phenomena are quantitatively evaluated in conjunction with NRZ and optical soliton transmission formats in DWDM systems. CPM leads to spectral broadening which may cause severe pulse distortion. While FWM may result in significant crosstalk among the optical channels.
