The simulation results show the impact of STATCOM on distance relay during phase to ground fault condition. In the presence of STATCOM, its controlling parameters as well as its installation location also affect the tripping characteristics. Here, simulate the Distance Relay and plot the zones and create fault in different zones and show the result with and without STATCOM. Abstract
