Normative Data for Behavioural Tests of Auditory Processing for New Zealand School Children Aged 7 to 12 Years

Abstract

One of the recommendations for administrating behavioural tests of auditory processing disorders (APD) is the collection of normative data from the local population (Bellis, 1996). Additionally, if test scores are dependent upon understanding verbal tokens it is sensible to rerecord the material using a local speaker to remove the effect of foreign accents. This article explains the need and the method of collection of normative data for behavioural tests.
