Abstract

The requirement for an almost strictly positive real system is part of the stability analysis of the simplified adaptive controller. The relation between this property and strict positive realness is examined for structures with collocated position/velocity sensors and actuators. A numerical procedure is developed to determine whether a given system is almost strictly positive real, and its application is illustrated with an example
