Abstract
The study's purpose is to determine the advantages and disadvantages of students who have to attend classes on the EBA platform and EBA TV during the Covid-19 pandemic and the effect on students' independent research and self-regulation skills, according to teachers' opinions. A qualitative research design was used to achieve this goal. With the semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers, the views of 18 teachers working in the Elazig province Kovancılar district in the 2020 -2021 academic year were taken. The study group was determined using a readily available sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods. The interview technique was used to reveal the perspectives of the participants. The teachers' views obtained in the study were coded with the descriptive analysis method. Subsequently, the themes under which these codes were located were determined. As a result of the analysis, the teachers expressed the factors such as the sustainability of education and the increase in technology use skills as the advantages of the EBA platform and EBA TV and the factors such as technological impossibility and lack of infrastructure as their disadvantages. Teachers stated that increasing the ability to access and use technology positively affects students' ability to conduct independent research, while impossibility, low motivation, and information pollution negatively affect these skills. They also stated that students' having to follow the lessons and increase their awareness of responsibility positively affect their self-regulation skills, but that factors such as technological impossibilities and lack of role-models negatively affect their self-regulation skills. As a result of the research, some suggestions have been developed to minimize the pandemic period's negative effects.
