Abstract
This study discusses current attempts to model the effectiveness assessment of distant labs. Distant labs, specifically remote labs (RL), are systems which are accessed through a web browser, which allow users from all over the world, anytime to perform the experiments with real devices. They increase teaching efficiency, provide time and money savings. Consequently, remote lab effectiveness influence the course success and hence the student success. In this study a conceptual model for effectiveness assessment of remote labs is introduced. The model is based on RL interactions with its environment and organizational strategy. The model elements are verified through a case study and the assessment method is applied to a remote lab project namely European Remote Radio Laboratory (ERRL) system which is developed to be used by electronics engineering students of At¿l¿m University.
