Abstract

The optimization of the processing stages in the sawmill line occupies a strategic position in processing wood products from raw materials (logs). The main objectives of this paper are to propose a design and manufacture an automatic edging and trimming (AET) system for a wood board to synchronize with the sawing line using programmable logic controller (PLC) system. To verify the design of integration, 20 different board samples were used to evaluate the effectiveness of the manufactured system.
