Abstract
In this paper, an assessment of the measurement test results of the extremely low frequency (ELF) electromagnetic (EM) behaviour of several spacecraft units is demonstrated. The present work has been carried out in the framework of ESA's study Pre-Verification of THOR Electro-Magnetic Cleanliness Approach. The test measurement setups are discussed and analyzed, along with the THOR mission requirements of both electric and magnetic field emissions. Moreover, the test results are evaluated for both transient and steady state operation of typical spacecraft units. This investigation is an essential part of the EM cleanliness, since its outcomes may be used in the development of methods for prediction of unit level AC magnetic & electric fields.
