Aspects of Conflict between the R. Duterte Administration and the Catholic Church in the Philippines

Abstract

The article is devoted to the complex conflict relations that have developed between the President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte and Catholic priests and hierarchs in the Philippines. The author raises the question of how, over the course of 5 years of his reign, the current president of the country continued to successfully and without significant damage to his image in the eyes of the people oppose the Philippine Catholic Church. In search of an answer, the author examines the factors that work in favor of R. Duterte, and, at the same time, against the Church and its activists.
