This paper proffers the Green Village Electricity Project as a suitable model for providing off-grid solar electricity to remote settlements in Nigeria while mitigating climate change on a Micro scale. The paper also highlights possible challenges, implementation barriers and operational lessons learnt in embarking on humanitarian energy projects in developing countries of the world. Abstract
