The computation of license plate localization shows that better edge detection results from level set method are obtained compared to those from other edge detection methods such as Roberts, Sobel and Canny. This study result is very valuable to edge detection, object localization and tracing. Abstract

Level set method is being applied actively in image field due to its mathematical perfection and maturity.
