Abstract

The Project "Customer Service Area" (Espace Service Client - ESC), currently implemented in post offices, resulting in a new configuration of working positions in "Ilots" now involves the position of standing work for the clerks, both for traditional activities (sending mail) or new (management of "boutique" sale of postal products, regional products, telephony, ...). With a view to preventing risks in the health and safety at work, an ergonomic support was created from feedback experiments conducted in the first twenty tests ESC offices equipped with furniture derived from those existing in current offices. Given the results, it was necessary to design specific furniture for different "Ilots" that were then validated through user testing. Other recommendations have also been developed for the management of workspaces, the choice of different furniture, and the establishment of frequent rotations on different working positions, to prevent risks in terms of health older staff.
