Abstract

Abstract The influence of Cr2O3, TiO2 and ZrO2 on the sintering, crystallisation and machinability of SiO2–Al2O3–MgO–K2O–B2O3–F glasses was investigated. Optimum fluoromica glass ceramic compositions with desirable sintering behaviour and machinability were obtained by addition of titanium and chromium oxides to the base glass.
