Abstract
The step response of a silicon micro-ring resonator is studied numerically. Effects of the optical pump power, free carrier absorption, free carrier dispersion, and the temperature-induced detuning on the step response are studied to achieve the range of parameters required for the thermo-optic oscillation regime.
