Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present the initial results of a longitudinal research program intended to explore the characteristics of the development of giftedness in children 5-6 years old. This subject has not been studied to any great extent in Russian psychology. Unfortunately, the investigations of giftedness that were started in Russia in 1905-1912 (by G.
