Abstract

IR Drop is an important aspect of DC power integrity of automotive products. This research suggests how to evaluate the IR Drop efficiency of an automotive product using electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools. Process instructions are provided for handling with IR Drop simulations for a device under test (DUT). It is shown that integrating electromagnetic modelling in the design process allows for the optimization of supply voltage ranges for equipment that take current from the power distribution network (PDN).
