Abstract

The potential for collateral interference between automotive radars is a long-standing concern but is not the only threat to the reliable operation of such system. The ready availability of automotive radar modules also raises the possibility of their use, with reckless or malicious motivations, to implement intentional interference with vehicle radar inputs to automated driving systems. This paper outlines the results of a preliminary investigation of the potential for exploiting commercial radar modules for such purposes.
