Abstract

In order to deliver a seamless service, the port logistics system must have good coordination between different actors or set of actors that has diverse needs, goals, and roles. Good coordination will improve the speed of service and unnecessary negotiations. The coordination is defined with information sharing, value-added services, and capacity. A good contract agreement will bind and regulate how the coordination is established between these actors. It usually involves variables such as risk allocation, solution conflict, cost, type of service, contract length, and committed capacity. This paper's aim to explore the relationships of coordination between actors by considering the contractual agreement between actors by using previous literatures related to the coordination and contract in port logistic. This paper also discuss how agent-based modeling can be explored and proposed as the medium to test and predict the effect of changes in the contractual agreement to agent’s coordination behaviors.
