Abstract

Stability of droop controlled microgrid is largely depends upon the value of droop coefficients and decoupling of active and reactive powers due to transmission line R/X ratio. A high value of droop coefficient causes low frequency power oscillations between sources. These power oscillations may remain for long duration causing huge power losses in inverters or may increase with time. The paper presents a novel method to damp out these power oscillations in microgrid and stabilize the grid with higher droop coefficients. The technique has been verified in MATLAB/Simulink.
