Abstract

This paper addresses some practical issues in active array signal processing, such as signal design, calibration and algorithmically efficient processing for range and angle determination. First, the operation of an experimental ultrasound-in-air active sensing system is described, and the range and angle detection capabilities of the array are investigated. Then, the applications of CDMA-like techniques in a multisensor range detection system is demonstrated, and the performances of two types of codes are compared.
