Abstract
The dissolved water in insulating liquids influences the electrical properties of the liquids. The behavior of charge carriers depends on the water in the liquid and relates to the physical properties of the liquid. Temperature influences the physical properties of the liquids, and it is important to study the relation between the variation of effect of water on electrical phenomena of the liquids and temperature. In our study, the state of water in di-octyl-phthalate (DOP) is analyzed using the IR spectra of water measured by the FT-IR method. In this paper, the IR spectra of water in DOP is measured by the FT-IR method in the region from -50 to 120 [/spl deg/C], and the relation between the state of water in DOP and temperature is analyzed.<>
