Abstract

A meander line phase shifter based on liquid crystal (LC) material is used to electronically steer beam of an antenna arraydesigned for ka-band. Based on biasing voltage applied on LC based meander line phase shifter, phases can be adjusted for antenna elements to steer the main beam in the desired directions. For theexample of a $\mathbf{1}\times \mathbf{4}$ array antenna with LC based meander line phase shifters, the main beam can be steered in the range of $\pm \mathbf{17}^{\mathbf{o}}$.
