The analysis of psychological, pedagogical and special literature allowed to define the concept of “leadership potential”. The results of the study are of interest. In the course of the study, it was established that the need to develop leadership potential in preschoolers is due to the state of mass practice. Most educators have no idea that modern society needs a person endowed with leadership qualities. Adults find it difficult to find ways to develop potential, underestimate the role of research activities in this process. This indicates the insufficient methodological readiness of teachers to effectively solve problems (the choice of methods, forms of work, techniques and the creation of the necessary conditions). The article presents research tasks, identifies ways for children of 6-7 years old to demonstrate leadership qualities.
