Abstract
An outcome measure is simply any form of measurement, typically a questionnaire, that is used to attempt to monitor progress. So in counselling, a questionnaire, on depression, for example, would be given to clients during assessment, at various points during their therapy, and then again at the end. Any improvement in scores would be used in partial support of the argument that the counselling was effective (or not).
