Abstract

The paper focuses on a current control principle which is suitable for various converter topologies. In contrast to the other known solutions based on microcomputer or digital signal processor (DSP) control, it introduces a simple yet effective current programmed control algorithm. Besides the fast dynamic response, the proposed control strategy ensures fixed switching frequency and stable operation in the whole duty cycle range thanks to the unique dual mode controller operation. In the proposed control strategy the valley and peak current control are combined under the same current control scheme. The paper presents the controller topology, analyzes its steady-state operation and dynamic response. It concludes with experimental results showing the implementation of the proposed control technique into the bridge type voltage source and it's performances.
