This paper presents laboratory test results of a 3.5 KW induction motor operating as a self excited induction generator. Effect of excitation capacitor on the performance of the generator is discussed. Authors have fabricated and tested a 200 watt Pico-hydro generation unit using a water wheel at actual site.
