Abstract
In the field of electrical engineering theory, simulation and experimental verification are key issues for successful research and development. Students have to acquire this knowledge. Active engineers have to update and enhance this knowledge, specially with regard to up-to-date technologies. This paper presents a Web-based experiment introducing Power Quality and Active Filters featuring theory, simulation and a Web-browser controlled on-line laboratory experiment. It gives a short introduction to power quality and power theory, describes the layout of the laboratory experiment, its connection to the Internet “Web”, educational aspects and methods used and finishes with selected measurement results. In this way the expected learning outcome is shown.
