Abstract
Ultrawideband (UWB) technology is the current and future demand of new generation (i.e., 5G and 6G) mobile networks since it facilitates higher data rates over a short distance. Thus, to cater to this demand of the future generation mobile network, a novel arc-shaped UWB antenna with a partial ground plane is proposed in this paper. The arc-shaped radiator helps in achieving a better S11 parameter (S11 < −10 dB) throughout the UWB operating range. Wide bandwidth is achieved using the partial ground plane. A dual resonance dip in the whole range of UWB frequencies is also observed in the design. The proposed UWB antenna operated from 3.5-13.6 GHz, thereby helping in achieving a bandwidth of 10.1 GHz and fractional bandwidth of 118%. Throughout this UWB range, VSWR is observed to be in the range of 1 to 2. The antenna has gain ranging from 2.5-8.5 dB throughout the operating bandwidth. The proposed UWB antenna has the pros of miniature size, better impedance matching, simple design, and high gain that can easily utilize to deploy the antenna for the aforementioned applications.
