Meeting of the specified test parameters is very important. Authors describe their considerations to meet requirements IEEE 1310 for uniformity of the temperature distribution and controlling the copper temperature. IEEE 1310 instruction for cooling air circulation is too restrictive and may not provide the adequate cooling especially for large coils. In the same time standard should provide more guidance for copper temperature measurement.
