A multi-hop relay strategy is also proposed by setting distance-based timers (the longer the distance, the shorter the timer) so that the farther receiver has the higher priority for it to rebroadcast the message. Important performance and reliability metrics are derived and analyzed for a thorough understanding of the safety message transmission behavior. Abstract
