Abstract

An approach to control system design for a Cuk converter is presented where cascade control system structure involves three control loops. The inner control loop is designed based on sliding mode control in order to provide desired value of input current. The second control loop allows maintaining the regulation of the voltage of transferring energy capacitor. The proportional-integral (PI) controller is used in the second control loop. The last outer control loop regulates the output voltage of the Cuk converter by integral (I) controller. The time-scale separation technique is applied for selection of PI controller parameters. Simulation results of the closed-loop control system are presented based on Matlab/Simulink Tools.
