The communication is a diverse topic and there are many techniques available nowadays which allow smooth data transfer between users or machines or among the combinations. This work carry outs the machine to machine communication system where electrical parameters of a network are interpreted by a smart meter which displays it on the LED display, along with that it transmits the data via RS485 port over Modbus protocol to the receiver. The data transfers from smart meter to computer/server through a serial converter or wi-fi converter. Additionally, in wireless mode, all devices should be connected in the same LAN network. The computer/server uses the ‘python’ programming language to collect the data from smart meter. Abstract
