The most frequent grammatical structures and patterns of evaluative utterances in English discourse are considered. Sociolinguistic factors, such as social status / role, gender, the ranking of the imposition are described. The components of the semantic structure of evaluative utterances, necessary for the realization of successful communication, are also determined. Abstract
