Abstract
The inverse scattering problem is solved for layered dielectric slab located in the standard rectangular metal waveguide. The slab is comprised of conventional dielectric materials with a piecewise constant dielectric permittivity. Appropriate algorithm is developed for the dielectric permittivity profile reconstruction and is related to the Cauchy problem for the Riccati equation. The frequency dependencies of the complex reflection coefficients are measured by microwave vector network analyzers. The measured values of complex reflection coefficients are used as initial data for inverse scattering problem solution for finite number of frequencies. Reconstructed dielectric permittivity profiles for two and three layered slabs have a good agreement with measured ones.
