Abstract

In this paper, we present a parallel computational solution for the evaluation of the electromagnetic field distribution in urban environment. The emphasis is on the methodological approach employed in the derivation of the parallel prototype starting from a sequential version of an existing ray-tracing-based electromagnetic solver. A proper task partitioning is performed and appropriate computational kernel is discerned, and then an interleaved task-scheduling strategy is proposed. Finally, experimental activities carried out on a cluster demonstrate the validity of the proposed parallel solution.
