Abstract

Classical and new types of discharge gaps, discharge plasma parameters , the magnitudes of near-electrode potential jumps, the use of discharges in plasma evaporators and plasma spraying of dielectrics have been described. The main characteristics of discharges have been explained. It is shown that the discharges with the evaporation of anode in vacuum can replace vacuum-arc discharges in the processes hindered by the working substance drops.
