Abstract

This paper focuses on the relay selection problem in network with nodes which can dynamically switch between full-duplex and half-duplex over Rayleigh fading channel. We consider optimal relay selection scheme based on network fairness in the system, an "incentive" counter is attached to every node, nodes compete to be relays through games to guarantee the fairness in the system. The relay with lower channel gains can be selected, then the selected relay will switch between full-duplex(FD) and half-duplex(HD) relaying which can operate on amplify-and-forward(AF) or decode-and-forward(DF) mode to get a higher channel capacity. The hybrid relay selection algorithm, NFHDAF, adopts the advantage of HD and FD, switching between DF or AF mode to get a lower outage probability. Finally, the numerical simulations show that the NFHDAF algorithm improves the performance of the system.
