Simulation Techniques Applied in Reverse Logistic: A Review

Abstract

Thanks to the beneficial and the environmental role that reverse logistic play in the industrial field, more attention has been directed towards improving and solving its various and complex problems using simulation techniques. In this article a literature review is conducted - based on more than 50 reviewed articles on simulation techniques in the context of reverse logistics. A classification of reverse supply chain problems that apply simulation techniques is proposed. Perusal of the literature shows that research in the field of reverse logistics and simulation has not been reviewed extensively. This study attempts to fill the existing gap through literature review, and outline future directions for research.
