Abstract

The radiation emitted from laser-produced plasmas of tungsten, ytterbium, and samarium has been observed at different wavelengths in a range of 30-200 am by means of timeresolved spectroscopic method. A Q-switched ruby laser (1.5 J/pulse, 18 as in FWHM) gave a power density of about 10 10 W/cm2 on the target. The intensity integrated over one pulse is found to be reproducible to ±20% or better over several tens of laser shots on the single target spot.
