Abstract

The paper finds the optimal reconfiguration of feeder by changing the status of tie and sectionalizing switches without affecting the radiality, as well enhancing the network efficiency by placing Distributed generation (DG). Binary Particle Swarm optimization (BPSO) is used to optimize the entire network and place the DG at appropriate candidate and calculation of DG size is carried out conventionally without violating the constrains. IEEE-33 and IEEE-69 Bus distribution system is taken for study and the results obtained are satisfactory.
