Abstract

With the development of HVDC technology, the demand of HVDC circuit breaker is more and more urgent, where the testing standards for HVDC circuit breaker is still absent. It's impractical to carry out test in the real HVDC system at present. The high-power HVDC source is also a high-cost scheme. Therefore, in most of the experiments of HVDC circuit breaker, the current is supplied by AC source. In this paper, two experimental schemes based on LC source for HVDC circuit breaker are studied. The interruption process is simulated and compared among the DC source and LC source with two sets of parameters.
