Abstract

The faults in a microgrid (MG) pose many challenges for operation of the system. They may lead to an increase in the operation cost. In this paper, in order to solve the problem, a novel algorithm based on the auto-configuration of MGs is proposed for minimizing the operation cost in grid-connected mode. A centralized energy management system (EMS) is also developed in accordance with the proposed algorithm, which is responsible for communication in the system and performs optimization. The EMS updates the system information and reschedules its resources upon occurrence of the faults or recovery from the faults for assuring economical operation of the MG system.
