Abstract

In this paper, we propose a Handcrafted Normalized-Convolution Network (NmzNet) for efficient texture classification. NmzNet is implemented by a three-layer normalized convolution network, which computes successive normalized convolution with a predefined filter bank (Gabor filter bank) and modulus non-linearities.
