Abstract

The Saratov energy system (SES) is characterized by a significant power excess due to the location of Balakovskaya nuclear power plant (BNPP) on its territory. BNPP is located 10.5 km from the town of Balakovo, Saratov region. The installed power of the station is 4000 MW as of 01.05.2018. At the BNPP 4 power units with WWER-1000 water-type reactors with a capacity of 1,000 MW each are operated [1]. For the production of electrical energy, turbogenerators of the THW-1000 type with a nominal capacity of 1000 MW, operating at voltage 24 kV are used.
