Abstract
The paper addresses the recent activities and results of the standardization Task Group IEEE P802.15.6ma. The Task Group has extended the concept of body area networks to vehicle area networks with seamless connectivity between human BAN (HBAN) and vehicle BAN (VBAN) use cases. The new results include channel models, simplified MAC design, HARQ, interference mitigation and bridging to infrastructure. The revision addresses the coexistence operation among multiple BANs and other wireless systems sharing the same spectrum.
