Abstract
In this paper we introduce M-PLAT, an intelligent tutoring system for helping students to learn the basics of programming languages. In fact, the M-PLAT system represents a full collection of intelligent tutoring systems, and due to its modular and hierarchical architecture it can be upgraded to deal with a new programming language that is not yet included in the system.
