Abstract

The traditional use of medicinal plants has a long historical basis, and they are widely recognized as safe and effective. Its activity encompasses the successful therapeutic aspects of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of physical and mental diseases, bringing balance to the body. The practice of herbal medicine as an alternative in folk medicine was widely used and valued mainly in rural communities and needy populations, the result of the experience accumulated over centuries of the use and cultivation of these medicinal plants The use of plants for medicinal purposes appears as an alternative for families low-income. The research aimed to identify the number of families in two neighborhoods that make use of medicinal plants and at the same time identify and encourage through the donation of seedlings promoting the sustainable use of biodiversity in the region. The work was carried out at Revista Multidisciplinar de Educação e Meio Ambiente DOI: 10.51189/iii-coninters/10142 ISSN: 2675-813X Centro Experimental Agroecológico do Araguaia, CEAGRO, Instituto Federal do Pará, IFPA, Campus de Conceição do Araguaia, in polyethylene plastic bags with the following dimensions: 12X12. It is observed through the results of the research that more than 85% of the families use some plant for therapeutic purposes, the most used medicinal plants according to the results of the analysis were: mint, pennyroyal, lemon balm, mastruz, aloe, boldo, herb sweet, holy grass, chamomile and pomegranate. After the interviews, seedlings were donated to families that did not grow any medicinal plants as a way of encouraging the use of this alternative. In view of the theme addressed on medicinal plants, it is noted that most of the families interviewed make use of plants for phytotherapic purposes and there was also an interest in this practice on the part of the residents who did not adopt this medicinal form. In short, the use of medicinal plants is perceived as an alternative for the treatment of diseases and even for health maintenance.

Agroecológico do Araguaia, CEAGRO, Instituto Federal do parints, IFPA, Campus de concep o do Araguaia进行的,使用聚乙烯塑料袋,尺寸如下:12X12。
