Abstract

In this work, attention is paid to experimental investigations of the anomalous Doppler effect at the electron cyclotron frequency in systems consisting of an electron beam and a helical slow wave structure or interdigital periodic structure placed in a longitudinal resonance magnetic field. In this case slow cyclotron waves in the beam and eigenmodes in the structure can be excited. RF generation conditions are analysed and application to the development of an ion accelerator with RF field excitation is discussed.
