The dependences of the optimal radius on the insulation thickness for a cylindrical reactor of vertical and horizontal design are given. Abstract

The article considers the biogas technology and the need for improving its efficiency. This paper presents the results of reactor parameters optimization in an anaerobic digester at minimizing the thermal losses in relation to its filling. The characteristic features of heat transfer from liquid biomass and gaseous medium during fermentation are analyzed. In the course of the study the main reactor parameters of the digester, considering its specific design features, are determined. The dependences of the optimal radius on the insulation thickness for a cylindrical reactor of vertical and horizontal design are given.
